Vickery Trading Co. (VTC) is a Dallas-based nonprofit social enterprise equipping refugee women (associates) for success through vocational training, personal development and fair wages. Through VTC, refugee women learn to be professional seamstresses by creating sustainably sourced women’s fashion pieces. Along the way, VTC provides personal development including English language classes, mental health support and financial planning services.

In 2023, VTC was preparing to unveil a fresh brand with an updated product mix. VTC enlisted Three Box to support the launch of its new era, which included the acquisition of a local jewelry brand.

Three Box facilitated several strategic workshops with the VTC team to capture their vision for the refreshed brand. Together, we identified the tone, feel, brand positioning and target audience, as well as other brands VTC was hoping to emulate. Simultaneously, we audited VTC’s historic data, including sales, products and digital marketing analytics, identifying trends in audience and engagement to inform future direction.

Our brand and competitor analysis set the stage for our comprehensive approach to introducing a new iteration of VTC that included:

  • Marketing Plan: Three Box outlined VTC’s differentiators, key audiences, success metrics, integrated mix of strategies and a recommended timeline for implementation in a holistic roadmap.

  • Brand Messaging: Three Box developed phased messaging to support VTC’s brand rollout, in addition to evergreen brand positioning that more clearly connected with key audiences and articulated VTC’s brand, mission and products through impactful storytelling.

  • Digital Marketing: Three Box supported VTC with strategic email campaign content aligned to the announcement timeline and refreshed brand.

  • Media Relations: Three Box introduced the new VTC to local fashion and community reporters.

  • Influencer Partnerships: Three Box facilitated brand partnerships with targeted content creators aligned to VTC’s brand.

Three Box’s support resulted in VTC’s successful acquisition announcement and fresh market positioning, leading to a positive response from existing audiences and increased brand awareness among new ones, generating 29.5K impressions and 800+ engagements from the program’s influencer engagement alone.
